A Korean Take On Skin Care

Koreans are famous for their smooth, youthful complexions, achieved through meticulous skincare routines. Of course, quality products are a must if you desire the healthy, glowing skin of a Korean pop star or soap actress, so choose your skincare arsenal wisely.

A good moisturizer
Korea is well known for its competitive skin care market, and Physiogel is the #1 Dermacosmetic skin care player in that market.
Physiogel moisturizers contain an advanced formula called BioMimic Technology, which include lipids similar to those found naturally in skin. These mimic the skin’s natural structure, repairing the moisture barrier and restoring the hydration skin needs to stay strong and visibly healthy.

Keep it clean
Before you moisturize, prepare your skin by gently washing your face with lukewarm water and nothing more. Rinse away any impurities that build up overnight, but without stripping or aggravating the skin. Korean skin care begins and ends with hydration.

Love your antioxidants Korean women rely on products packed with antioxidants for supple, dewy skin – and so should you! Free radicals are present in the environment all around us, and they attempt to damage the skin at the cellular level, leading to premature skin aging. Especially for women with sensitive skin, exposure to environmental pollutants from smoke, car emissions, may often result in higher occurrence of skin sensitivity. Fortunately, antioxidants neutralise these free radicals, and protects the skin from such damage.

Always use SPF
Using a product with SPF protection is the best thing you can do to prevent pigmentation, premature skin aging and even skin cancer. Keep your skin looking radiant and hydrated with a Daily Defence Day Cream, which defends against the sun and even environmental aggressors. If you’re tempted to skip using an SPF moisturizer on a grey day, think again – harmful UV rays can cut through the clouds.

Never forget a night cream
When you sleep, the body naturally repairs your skin. Collagen production and blood flow increase, warding off wrinkles and other signs of ageing. Boost the process with a good moisturizer, something every skin type needs, whether dry or oily. Moisturizers come in many forms and target different concerns, I use Physiogel’s Daily Defence Night Cream, which is formulated to provide overnight moisturization for sensitive skin and was recognised by the Elle Korea Beauty Awards 2017.

Care for your body, too
When it comes to skincare, most people focus on their face, but it’s important to look after the rest of your body too. Wash with a gentle, non-foaming cleanser like Physiogel’s Daily Moisture Therapy Dermo-Cleanser which is formulated to leave skin feeling clean and soft. After the shower, be sure to slather yourself all over with moisturizer to keep skin healthy and strong!
